Blame the Chinese commies on climate change

I couldn't help but smile wryly when I saw the news that China's new five year plan on energy efficiency will outdo the EU's paltry and stumbling efforts.

You'll remember that after the debacle of the Copenhagen international climate talks Ed Milliband, Gordon Brown, Barack Obama and even environmental Mark Lynas queued up to point the finger of blame at China.

I have no great love for China. Their global land grabbing , human rights record and environmentally disastrous big engineering projects illustrate that a lot is wrong with the country. And they need to make far more radical changes if the world is to stand a chance of avoiding dangerous climate change.  But their actions to date are speaking a lot louder than the empty words of the USA and EU.

It's time Obama and others stop pointing the finger of blame and instead pull their finger out and get delivering real change.
