Lottery for laws

A Private Members' Ballot on Thursday 10 June saw hundreds of back bench MPs throw their names into a hat.

Twenty MPs were selected and now have a chance to drive a law of their choice through Parliament.

New law for livestock

Friends of the Earth is calling on these MPs to choose a Sustainable Livestock Bill that supports planet-friendly farming.

The Bill would commit the Government to reduce the damaging environmental and social impacts of meat and dairy farming.

Destructive practices

Meat and dairy production is responsible for a fifth of climate-changing gases.

It is also wiping out rainforests as they are being cleared to make space to grow animal feed such as soy.

Our letter to the MPs

We're asking these 20 MPs to fix the food chain by taking up the Sustainable Livestock Bill.
