Help us increase recycling to 70%
22 October 2010

The UK Government is currently reviewing waste policy in England, and they want everyone to get involved and have their say.

At the moment, the target for recycling waste collected by councils is only 50%.

We currently recycle less than 40% of our waste, while Flanders in Belgium already recycles over 70%.

A higher target would

  • reduce climate change emissions
  • create thousands of new jobs
  • help us move towards a zero waste economy

We must put pressure on the Government now to ensure ambitious yet achievable recycling targets are set for the next 15 years.

Act now

With your help we can ensure the Government sets an ambitious recycling target in its draft policy.

Make your voice heard - please email Caroline Spelman, Secretary of State for the Environment.

Dear Secretary of State,

Here's an example you can use (but personalising this message would be much more effective).
