Sustainable Diets

We're campaigning to encourage everyone to eat a diet that's better for them and the planet.

That means:

  • Less meat
  • Less highly processed food
  • More fruit and veg
  • Eating seasonably
  • Eating locally

Why is eating less meat so important?

  • Meat and dairy production cause 18% of climate changing emissions
  • 75% of agricultural land is used to raise animals for food - not the most efficient use
  • A shift to lower-meat diets in the UK could prevent 45,000 deaths each year

What can you do?

  • Eat more sustainably yourself
  • Spread the word
  • Why not invite 3 friends round for a low/no meat meal and share the info here along with your cooking?
  • Watch this space for campaign actions

What's becoming increasingly compelling is the unavoidable fact that eating less meat is better for the planet.
