Our Make a Noise at the Earth Summit pack urged the Government to call for global rules to make big business more accountable to the environment and its people.

Results of this pack

With selfish and short-sighted businessmen and politicians at the Earth Summit it was bound to be a fairly depressing affair, but it would have been a lot worse had it not been for nearly 35,000 people who 'made a noise' in support of our campaign and gave Friends of the Earth a strong vocal presence. Also, thanks to your pressure on Jack Straw, Straw's message was reflected in a final Summit resolution to "actively promote corporate responsibility and accountability... through inter governmental agreements..."
