Carbon Dating

At the beginning of March a large hall in Westminster hosted an extraordinary event called 'Carbon Dating'.

Carbon dating is an activity a bit like speed dating but which has two (subtle?) differences - the conversation is restricted to climate change, and the 'dates' are all MPs.

 

Hundreds of people from environmental, development and faith groups took part in the event, organised by the Stop Climate Chaos coalition, to call for urgent action on climate change.

The hall was packed with people eager to meet with MPs and to ask them to take action.

Over 60 MPs rose to the challenge - including some big hitters - Margaret Beckett, David Cameron and Menzies Cambell.

 

David Cameron, as mystery MP No 41, was also keen to stress the Conservative's commitment to taking action

They were each given a number to wear, and had ten minutes per table to make their mark.

   

Like any event, some impressed their potential dates more than others - but everyone agreed that this was a inspiring and interesting way to get the point across.
