Members of the public can now buy a stake in a cleaner safer energy future for Britain.
The Fenland Green Power Co-Operative is offering shares in a new wind farm to members of the public. The scheme is modelled on the highly successful Baywind Co-operative in Cumbria.
Wind turbines at Deeping St Nicholas
Two of the eight turbines at the site in Deeping St Nicholas will be owned by the community. The two turbines will provide enough green electricity to power more than 2,100 homes.
If the UK is serious about meeting its targets to cut carbon emissions, we must switch to clean and safe energy sources like wind.
Back in March the Government signed a landmark agreement to source 20% of Europe’s total energy from renewables by 2020.
Everyone can play a part to help reach these targets.
Britain is the windiest country in Europe. So harnessing wind power can make a real difference towards cutting our carbon dioxide emissions.
