Support Bleak House windfarm
10 June 2008

A new windfarm is proposed for Staffordshire, at the former Bleak House opencast site between Heath Hayes and Burntwood.

Did you know?

The three turbines will supply the average electricity demand of around 3,400 homes.

Harworth Power.

Clean and safe solutions

The UK has committed to new EU energy targets to generate 15% of all energy from renewable sources by 2020. To meet its share the UK must make use of our abundant supplies of wind energy.

Approving projects like the one is vital if we are serious about meeting these targets.

Let's make it happen

Following consultation, the developer has reduced the size of the proposal from five turbines to three.

Walsall Friends of the Earth support this proposal. They are campaigning for a safe future for everyone in the area.

Please join them in calling on Cannock Chase District Council to approve the project and help cut carbon dioxide emissions.

Find out more about the proposal at the developer's website.
