The Danish Government is at it again, only this time it's not just secret draft agreements.
The Danish Prime Minister has held yet more back-room meetings in an effort to stitch up any deal before world leaders arrive at the UNFCCC.
This weekend thousands of activists were in Copenhagen calling for a strong and fair agreement. They faced over-the-top policing tactics from the Danish authorities.
Meanwhile, Denmark was hosting exclusive meetings to discuss the finer points of their unfair proposal.
This was a slap in the face for many developing nations who were not invited to discuss the proposal.
Denmark - a reputation at risk?
Last week the Danish government promised transparency and honesty.
One week on and the Danish Prime Minister needs reminding again that back-room deals are not part of a strong outcome at Copenhagen.
As the Prime Minister of the host nation, Lars Løkke Rasmussen must ensure that:
- He serves in a neutral and unbiased manner.
- A fair, open and transparent process is experienced by all participants.
- The full and inclusive participation of all countries is a priority.
- The voice of civil society is allowed to be heard.
