Dear Mr Brown,

I, along with dozens of national organisations and hundreds of thousands of individuals, welcome the Climate Change Bill as a positive step in preventing dangerous climate change. However I am concerned that, in its current form, it is critically flawed. I note that a recent UN Human Development Report and scientists from the Royal Commission on Environmental Pollution have stated the Bill must: a) have a 2050 emissions reduction target of at least 80%, and b) include our international aviation and shipping emissions. I am therefore writing to you to ask you to please support these changes to the Bill so we can have a world leading piece of legislation that ensures the UK is doing what is required to alleviate dangerous levels of climate change.
