Climate Change

Support Harrington windfarm
10 July 2009

A new windfarm is proposed near the villages of Draughton and Maidwell in Northamptonshire.

Local action to tackle climate change will:

  • Boost the local economy
  • Create jobs.

Local and regional government has a big part to play to help avoid runaway climate change.

Get serious about CO2

If the UK is serious about meeting its targets to cut carbon emissions we must switch to clean and safe energy sources like wind.

Local government must lead by example in implementing sustainable energy projects.

Did you know?

The seven turbines will provide enough electricity to supply 7,700 homes.

Leicester Friends of the Earth is working hard to encourage their local council to cut CO2 emissions by 40% by 2020. The windfarm is also supported by and the Pro Wind Alliance.

Completion of Harrington wind farm would be a big step in the right direction towards reaching this target.

Let's make it happen

Please join them in calling on Daventry District Council to approve the project and help cut carbon dioxide emissions.
