Ask Leeds City Council to back local carbon budgets2 August 2010
Our Get Serious About CO2 campaign is calling for local carbon budgets for every council.
Local carbon budgets would help drive ambitious emissions cuts across the country.
And councils would get help to lead effective carbon reduction strategies in their local area.
In a speech in July, Energy Secretary Chris Huhne called on councils to make an 'offer' to Government to say how they will do their bit to help meet the targets in the Climate Change Act.
This is great. Chris Huhne is calling on councils to act with the ambition of the Climate Change Act.
Now we need to make sure that councils respond to Chris Huhne's challenge and back local carbon budgets.
Please email Councillor Keith Wakefield, Leader of Leeds City Council, and ask him to sign up to this 'offer' of local carbon budgets.
