Support Stone Yard Lane Windfarm
28 October 2010

A new windfarm is proposed in South Gloucestershire between Shepperdine, Hill and Rockhampton.

The UK has committed to new EU energy targets to generate 15% of all the UK's energy from renewable sources by 2020. To meet its share the UK must make use of our abundant supplies of wind energy.

Approving projects like this is vital if we are serious about meeting these targets.

Did you know?

The four turbines will supply the average electricity demand for over 5,500 homes.

Let's make it happen

The developer, Wind Prospect, has consulted widely with both the public and statutory authorities.

As a result the turbines have been reduced from 130m to 127m tip height to reduce the visual and landscape impact.

Local support

Stone Yard Lane windfarm is supported by local people from South Gloucestershire Friends of the Earth.

Please join them in calling on South Gloucestershire Council to approve the project and help cut carbon dioxide emissions.
