Every year we’re seeing the impacts of climate change grow. Floods, droughts and storms are all getting worse.
But the world can prevent the worst of climate change. And we’ll do this through a massive economic transformation – one that moves the planet off fossil fuels and on to renewable energy.
Exciting changes for the better are already happening. Every day more power from the wind and sun comes on stream. Every day more communities are campaigning to keep fossil fuels in the ground.
The faster we act, the less suffering for people across the planet – from farmers in the Sudan to those hit by flooding in Somerset.
But there’s still a long way to go. World governments lack the ambition to change at the speed that’s needed. And powerful fossil fuel industries are lobbying for delays the Earth cannot afford.
We’re campaigning with people in the UK and internationally to bring about a massive energy revolution, as fast as possible.
We’re working on:
- A strong global climate agreement
- Keeping fossil fuels in the ground, including stopping fracking
- Using energy as efficiently and sparingly as possible – it’s too precious to waste
- A renewables revolution
- Preparing for the climate change we cannot avoid, like flooding
