Advice Line FAQ's

How can I get free legal advice?

You can call the legal advice line on 0808 801 0405 or email legal@foe.co.uk

The advice line is open on the first and third Wednesday of the month from 6.30pm to 8.30pm, but you can send an email or leave a message at any time.

What can I get advice about?

We can give you advice on anything that affects the environment in your neighbourhood. That could be anything from availability of food, pollution or new developments, to protecting your local green spaces.

If we can't help with your problem, we'll try to put you in touch with someone who can.

Who will be giving me the advice?

Our advice line is staffed by volunteers who are experienced, qualified lawyers and is supervised by a Friends of the Earth lawyer.

Will I have to pay for the phone call?

Calls are free from most mobile networks and all landlines.

Will you take my case to court?

The Rights and Justice Centre takes on a few cases each year, but we can't take on every case. If we aren't able to take your case on ourselves we'll try to put you in touch with someone who can help.

Will my call be confidential?

Yes.

Do I have to be a member of Friends of the Earth to get free advice?

No, anyone can get in touch with the advice line. If you think we can help, we'd really love to hear from you.

Do you have a textphone?

No, but we're very happy to receive enquiries by email to legal@foe.co.uk
