Voice of the RegionThe Yorkshire and Humber Regional Environment Forum (YHREF) was formed in 2001 to coordinate and represent the views of a wide range of conservation and environmental organisations within the Region. Its core purpose is to provide a representative of the environmental sector to sit on the Yorkshire & Humber Assembly. The YHREF is a collective of 22 statutory and voluntary organisations, with a dedicated full-time policy officer and a part-time administrator, who meet to address the issues of developing a coherent environmental agenda for the Region. The Forum promotes this shared agenda by providing a new channel for environmental expertise into regional policy processes, such as Regional Planning Guidance and the Regional Economic Strategy.
