Leicester Friends of the Earth to hold Conference on GM

Leicester Friends of the Earth is holding a conference on genetically modified (GM) food 22 May, including seven national and regional speakers including Alan Simpson MP, a leading professor of plant genetics, and representatives from the RSPB, National Farmers' Union, biotechnology company Novartis, and the Soil Association. There will also be workshop sessions covering regulation, biodiversity threats, labelling, ethics, choice for growers and consumers, the Five-Year Freeze, and the way forward.
