Last chance to have your say on GM consultation

As the Government consultation on GM crops draws to a close, Friends of the Earth is urging the public to have their say to protect our right to choose GM free food.

The Government is asking people what rules are needed to allow GM crops to be grown alongside conventional and organic crops in England in the next few years.

But the current proposals are seriously flawed, and if implemented, will allow widespread GM contamination of food and farming.

The proposals:

Thousands of people have already responded, calling for tough rules to prevent GM contamination of conventional and organic crops and strict liability on biotech companies for any economic or environmental damage caused by their products.

The consultation closes on Friday 20 October. We've made it easy to respond at:
