Campaign win - 2010 Energy Act22 February 2010
Get paid more to produce green energy?
You will now - thanks to a campaign by Friends of the Earth and its supporters.
The 2010 Energy Act means homes, small businesses and communities will get paid extra for electricity they generate - via a feed-in tariff, or "clean-energy cashback".
The feed-in tariff will give a huge kick start to green energy in UK communities.
It means more support for local projects like:
- Solar panels on roofs
- Wind turbines on farms
- Community owned renewable energy
It is important to recognise the role played by Friends of the Earth, who have almost unendingly pursued our understanding of the arguments and we are truly grateful for that
