Planning and climate change coalition success

A Friends of the Earth-backed coalition pushing for planning to help tackle climate change has scooped a prestigious award.

The coalition was set up in May 2009 with the aim to put climate change at the heart of the planning system.

It brings together a variety of sectors to influence planning guidance.

Seeking to direct its approach to tackle climate change, sustainable development and environmental justice.

The coalition successfully encouraged local authorities to plan for the future by adapting development plans to protect against the threat of climate change.
