English waste strategy published

The Government has published a new waste strategy for England.

Friends of the Earth supports much of the strategy including:

But the Government has set an unambitious target to recycle just half our household waste by 2020.

We could recycle much more:

Tackling climate change requires more ambitious targets and we believe that the UK should be aiming for 75% recycling by 2015.
