Get Serious About CO2: Your Essential Guide10 June 2009
Councils have a big say in UK emissions - from how we heat and fuel our homes to how we get around.
And our Get Serious About CO2 campaign is calling for every council to do its bit on climate change.
Find out how you can get involved.
We're calling on councils to commit to cutting emissions in their area by at least 40 per cent by 2020.
But the Government must make sure all councils do their bit on climate change.
We're calling for every council to have a local carbon budget - that's a budget limiting the carbon their area can emit.
The budgets must apply to every council and come with proper support from Government.
What can local groups do?
We've produced a guide explaining the different elements of the Get Serious About CO2 campaign and outlining the different ways groups can get involved. There's a decision tree to help you decide what should be your group's priority.
You can find out more about the different elements of the campaign here and what you can do to get involved.
Find out about what's been happening with the campaign so far.
