Your support has paid off.
Campaign history
In 2007 the European Parliament voted through the EU Renewables Directive - committing the UK to delivering 15% of energy from renewables by 2020.
All the postcards collected during the Day of Action last October helped persuade the EU to agree strong renewable energy targets.
The UK Government tried to weaken the targets - but in the end their proposals received little support or were rejected.
What's in a Strategy?
The Government agreed to publish its Renewable Energy Strategy showing how the UK would meet this 15% target.
Our local groups campaigned for a strong and sustainable strategy.
A different approach
Our local group network built up the pressure on MPs by gathering support of local businesses and organisations.
This news page shows just some of the great work they carried out in their communities. You can also see who took action on our signups map.
