Quiz time in East Dorset11 June 2009
East Dorset Friends of the Earth ran a Food Chain quiz at a few stalls in June.
It really helped attract the crowds as local group member Angela explains:
"Our quiz had 6 questions, some related to the Food Chain Campaign and some on local environmental issues.
We printed and laminated each question and stuck them up for everyone to read.
Example question:
What percentage of global greenhouse gas emissions come from meat and dairy production? 80%, 18% or 10%?
We provided people with a sheet to put their answers and contact details on.
On one day we had a prize that had been donated by Lush, so we put all the answer sheets in a box and had a draw. The other days we had fair trade biscuits that we offered to everyone that completed the quiz.
Example question:
What percentage of soya produced worldwide is used for animal feed? 90%, 35% or 50%?
We found it was a great way to get people talking about the issues, and the answers surprised a lot of people."
The quiz worked a treat in East Dorset so why not give it a go yourselves?
