York group get creative with their stall11 June 2009
York Friends of the Earth donned their sandwich boards and ran a great stall in early June. Group coordinator Guy sent us this report:
"You will be pleased to know that the stall went very well. Lots of people came up to the stall and quite a few people took cards away for their friends or work colleagues to sign.
Overall we got 111 cards signed plus the cards that were taken away.
Regarding the props, the cow and chicken certainly helped to attract people. Future campaigns should consider making wearable props too.
We had a little difficulty with the width of the cow. Experiment with different length shoulder straps to make sure you can still use your arms when you wear it!
We also used a pop-up book rainforest and a sack with soya beans to represent the other parts of the food chain."
The group now plan to put together some even more elaborate props for their next event. So watch this space for creative ideas for your Food Chain Campaign.
