Rights & Justice Centre

Our Rights & Justice Centre offers free legal support, helping communities and other campaign groups protect their environment.

This doesn't just mean nature and green spaces, but our communities and the places we live, work, play, learn and shop.

Free legal advice

If you need legal advice:

You can speak to an adviser from 6.30pm - 8.30pm on the first and third Wednesday of every month.

Or you can leave a message at any time.

As part of our commitment to environmental justice, we strive to support communities that:

  • Suffer the most from bad environmental decisions
  • Are often not heard

We're also committed to helping communities bring forward cases that can make a bigger difference.

For example, this could mean bringing about a change in the law, benefiting many communities and the environment.

You can read more about our recent work or see answers to questions we're often asked about our service.

Going to court

This is an option when all else has failed.

The Rights & Justice Centre takes on a small number of legal cases each year, so there's a chance that we could take on your case.

If we're unable to assist in your case, we can put you in touch with other organisations that will be able to help.

Remember, a legal case has to be brought very promptly so please take advice quickly.

If you're a lawyer or trainee (or pupil) lawyer and would like to take part in our internship programme or volunteer for the advice line then more information is available here.
