Meet our fundraisers8 February 2011
Friends of the Earth uses both street fundraisers and door-to-door fundraisers.
Street fundraisers stand in busy areas and approach passers-by to talk about our work and invite them to support us. Door-to-door fundraisers visit people at their doorstep.
At the moment, our in house fundraising teams are based in London and the Southeast, the North West, The Midlands and The Southwest. We also work with specialist street and door-to-door agencies throughout the country.
Meet Anna
Anna is one of our street fundraising team members in Bristol. She talks about her experience fundraising on the street:
What made you decide to become a street fundraiser?
I care a lot about what I do and working for Friends of the Earth was always a dream, so it wasn't a hard decision to apply. I love the buzz you get when someone is really inspired and wants to be a part of Friends of the Earth. You see for yourself the difference we're making.
What has been your highlight so far?
Definitely the Innocent Fete. We worked alongside the events and campaigns teams to raise money as well as getting a whole heap of postcards signed for the biofuels campaign. We also helped the Guildford and Waverley local group at their stall at the Wings & Wheels event and this was a great opportunity to talk to a completely new audience about our work.
