Street and door-to-door fundraising

Friends of the Earth fundraises in the street and door-to-door to ensure crucial support for our environmental campaigns.

Why this type of fundraising is important

Street and door-to-door fundraising enables us to recruit long term supporters and it is particularly successful in reaching people who might otherwise not be aware of our work. Approximately 30% of our current active regular supporters started supporting us after being inspired by one of our enthusiastic fundraisers.

I met a guy in Woolwich yesterday working for Friends of the Earth. I was impressed, many of the subjects we talked about are of much interest to me.

Our fundraising teams don't just raise money to support our work, they also engage the public in conversation about different ways of getting involved, for example joining a local group, becoming an activist or taking part in sponsored events.
