Join the march to Put People First

On 28 March thousands will march through London as part of a global campaign to challenge the G20.

This is ahead of the G20 summit on the global financial crisis to be held in Docklands on 2 April.

Put People First

Even before the banking collapse the world suffered poverty, inequality and the threat of climate chaos.

The world followed a financial model that has created an economy fuelled by ever-increasing debt, both financial and environmental.

Our future depends on creating an economy based on fair distribution of wealth, decent jobs for all and a low carbon future.

There can be no going back to business as usual.

People from all over the country will join the march on March 28. Be one of them.

The march

Assembling at Victoria Embankment (Temple tube) from 11am, the march moves off at noon.

Join Friends of the Earth activists by the Walkabout pub on Victoria Embankment.

The march will culminate in a rally at Hyde Park.

Friends of the Earth is a founding member of Put People First - a coalition of development charities, trade unions, faith groups, environmentalists and other organisations.

The coalition was formed in response to call for a fair, sustainable route out of recession. It is united by three linked calls:

  • Jobs
Decent jobs and public services for all.
  • Justice
    End global poverty and inequality.
  • Climate
    Build a green economy.
