Friends of the Earth Cymru consults on its draft Welsh Language Scheme

Friends of the Earth (FOE) Cymru today launched its draft Welsh Language Scheme, (1) and is inviting anyone with an interest in how it delivers its services in Welsh and English to give their comments (2).

The scheme outlines FOE Cymru's commitment to the Welsh language as well as listing what services it will deliver bilingually to the people of Wales. This covers answering the phone, correspondence, events and meetings, publications, and the media. FOE Cymru is also supporting staff and volunteers to learn and improve their Welsh.

Julie Lewis, Information and Campaigns Officer said:

"FOE Cymru is determined to deliver a bilingual service to the people of Wales. In order to get our policy right it is important that everyone is given the chance to comment. We hope the public and other interested bodies will take this opportunity to give their views".

If anyone would like to comment you can download a copy of the scheme from the FOE web site at: www.foe.co.uk/campaigns/ ¬
