A greener Wales - making it happen9 April 2007
Friends of the Earth Cymru's vision for the next Assembly term sets out the policies required to combat climate change by boosting energy efficiency, supporting renewable energy and switching away from car use.
Suggested policies include:
- Moving money from road building to public transport
- Cancelling the proposed Gwent Levels Motorway in Newport and the Queensferry Bypass in Flintshire, which would increase traffic and pollution if built
- Scrapping Assembly subsidies for north-south Wales air services
- Investing in energy efficiency and renewable power
- Recycling and composting more of our waste
