Road threatens key Site of Special Scientific Interest

Fight the planning application for the Bexhill to Hastings Link Road

Friends of the Earth South East and the Hastings Alliance are working to prevent controversial proposals for a new road through countryside north of Bexhill and Hastings.

East Sussex County Council has recently submitted the planning application for the scheme and we urgently need people to object before 6th July, 2007.

Combe Haven under threat

The beautiful Combe Haven valley

The chosen route passes within metres of the Combe Haven Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), designated as one of the nation’s most important wildlife sites. 

If approved, the road would open up a large greenfield site for commercial and housing development and promote more out-of-town building.
