Tell Robin Hood Airport to wake up to climate change

Robin Hood Airport near Doncaster wants to increase their passenger numbers tenfold in the next 20 years. And they want people to tell them what they think of the plan.

A plane landing

Air travel's share of UK carbon dioxide emissions is forecast to rise at a time when we need drastic cuts.

Regional airports across the country are growing rapidly and Robin Hood is no exception.

This scale of growth will mean:

  • More passengers
10 million passengers per year by 2030.
  • More emissions
The airport will burn more carbon dioxide than the whole of Doncaster by 2030.
  • More traffic
Public transport cannot cope with 10 million passengers so the airport wants new roads.
  • More noise
Disrupting the lives of people in villages and towns around the airport.

The airport says that the growth is essential for the local economy. But three quarters of air passengers are UK residents going overseas. This is damaging local tourism.

The airport has asked for your views. Tell them to wake up to climate change and cut back their irresponsible growth plans.
