Board elections

Local group members in each region can stand for election as a Board member. Groups in each region vote for their preferred candidate every three years.

2011 Board elections:

The Board elections process for 2011 is now complete for the North East and Yorkshire & Humber, South Central, East of England and Cymru regions. The following candidates have been voted to the Board this year:

  • North East and Yorkshire & Humber: Bill Rigby (Beverley)
  • South Central: John Halladay (Bracknell Forest)
  • East of England: Victoria Harvey (South Bedfordshire)
  • Cymru: Steve Hack (Carmarthen)

Congratulations to all candidates.

Many thanks also to Anthony Rae (NE and Y&H), Paula Whitney (EE) and Michael Hughes (Cymru) for their years of service on the Board.

They'll step down at the November Board meeting, at which Bill, Victoria and Steve will formally join. John stays on the Board for his second term.

2010 Board elections results:

  • Midlands: Frank Green (Rugby)
  • South East: Hilary Griffiths (Guildford & Waverley)
  • North West: Tania Sayer (South Cheshire)

2009 Board elections results:

  • Cymru: Michael Hughes (Llangollen & District) 
  • Northern Ireland: Bonnie Horsman (Bambridge & Mourne) 
  • London: Jess Gold (Camden)
  • South West: Jeremy Birch (Bristol)

Each Board member serves a 3-year term, so regions come up for election once every 3 years. Local groups in each election region usually receive information on how to nominate a candidate in the Spring, followed by the opportunity to vote at Conference in September.
