Conference 2012
Book now to come to our most inspiring activist event of the year. 14-16 September at Imperial College, London.
This year's event will be bigger and better than ever. We've got loads of inspiring speakers lined up, including:
- Caroline Lucas, Britain's first Green MP
- Rob Newman, environmentally conscious comedian
- Liz Jensen, author of 'The Rapture'
- Satish Kumar, Resurgence editor
- Polly Higgins, campaigning lawyer
- Neal Lawson, Compass chair
We're also planning lots of creative workshops with the experts like:
- Stunt and prop design with New Internationalist cartoonist Polyp
- Social media campaigning with no 1 green blogger Peter McColl
- Film making for social change
- Photography to see things differently
Up until 22 June, you can also tell us what workshops and training sessions you'd like. Submit your ideas here.
We'll be working together on the next steps of our Bee Cause and Clean British Energy campaigns. And we'll also get ready to launch our new campaign for greener products.
As well as the usual much-loved socials - this year a ceilidh and Secret Garden Party DJs - we're planning a few different things:
- storytelling workshop
- renewable energy demonstration
- visit to the Natural History Museum
- biodiversity walk.
A weekend ticket with free food is £30. Onsite accommodation will cost extra. Day tickets are also available for the Saturday at just £10. The weekend ticket is geared towards local group members, but the Saturday is specially designed to be open to all, so day tickets are available too.
Onsite accommodation is available from £80 for the two nights if you're happy to share a twin room, £86.40 for two nights in a standard single, or £100 for a single en-suite. (Call (0207) 594 9507 or (0207) 594 9511 to arrange, opening times Mon-Fri 9am-5pm).
There are a small number of subsidies available to help with travel costs. Subsidy forms will be available from 1 June.
