Make your event green

Choose a location accessible by public transport, bike or in walking distance for most people.

Try to avoid car use.

Try to use local, organic food.

You may be able to get this donated from local suppliers - ask for odd shaped vegetables, or items coming to the end of their shelf life.

Use as little as possible.

Communicate via email, social media, text messages, phone calls and word of mouth.

Have different bins for different waste.

These might be provided by the venue or you may need to bring your own.

Try to keep waste to a minimum by using re-useable cutlery, plates and cups.

Avoid additional packaging on products, such as individually wrapped ketchup.

Don't damage the area you are using - ensure you clear all rubbish before you leave.

If you're having a camp fire ensure it's contained so that it doesn't damage the ground.
