The story so far

The UK is committed to reducing emissions by 50% by 2025 - and local authorities have a vital role to play in meeting this commitment.

Friends of the Earth's briefing for the event outlines the progress made so far.

Joint letter to the Minister

Many speakers highlighted that a step change in action is needed to ensure every council does its bit on cutting carbon.

A new joint letter to Greg Barker demands this step change takes place.

Solar support scuppered

A hot topic at the event was the recent halving of support for small-scale solar generation.

Delegates were asked to co-sign a letter to the Prime Minister urging him to rethink the Government's proposed changes.
