Most supermarkets are going back on their efforts to use GM-free animal feed in meat, eggs and dairy.
This is a major step backwards in the fight to keep our food GM-free.
Supermarkets have recently said there isn't enough non-GM feed for pigs or poultry - but they have been misled. Brazilian soy producers "expressed surprise" at the claim and have confirmed there's plenty to go round.
Please take action now. Tell supermarkets to keep our food GM-free.
Most supermarkets aren't listening to consumers. Research shows two thirds of people think it's important for food produced from GM-fed animals to be labelled.
Labelling loophole
Supermarkets must label any foods that are GM, or have GM ingredients. But this does not cover products, such as meat, milk or eggs, where the animals are fed GM crops.
We want all supermarkets to put the ban on GM feed for their pork, poultry meat and eggs back.

Bigger picture
In the long term we'd like to see a move away from imported soy altogether. It's unsustainable and causes deforestation and displacement of communities.
Keeping clear of GM is just one part of a sustainable diet.
