Start a local group

Care about the environment? Want to get active in your community?

Joining or starting a Friends of the Earth local group could be just the answer you are looking for. Find out how to here:

Step 1

Use our local groups' finder to check that there isn't already a group covering your area.

Step 2

If there isn't a nearby group, then read this Starting a New Group Guide to find out more about our groups, what they do, and the first steps to setting up your own group. Once you've done this, contact the Network Developer for your region to log your interest in setting up a new group. They'll be able to offer you some additonal advice and can answer any questions you have about what's involved.

Step 3

If you've made the decision to go for it, read this Getting a Group Going Guide for advice on generating publicity, attracting members, and running your first meeting. Please also notify your Network Developer so that they can be on hand to support you through the initial stages.

Step 4

Finally, there's a bit of paperwork to do to officially set up the group. This needs to be sorted before you start to campaign, but once you've done this, you can really focus on building the group. Click on the Ready to Set Up a Group link below to access all the documentation you need.
