Project Overview

A big thank you to all the Brownies, Guides and Senior Section members who tested Friends of the Earth's green challenges - the report of your findings will be published in September.

Cycling to school

The response to this project has been fantastic - and shows that girls are concerned about climate change and want to do what they can to help. By trying out these challenges, you have given valuable insights into what it's really like trying to adopt a climate-friendly lifestyle. Friends of the Earth will campaign to remove the barriers which your research has highlighted.

About the challenge

Brownies, Guides, Senior Section members and their families have been trying out ten different green challenges - based around transport, heating and electricity use.

Did they work? Were they easy? Were they impossible? What problems did they come up against?

The girls' findings will be gathered together in a special report, to be published later this year. We'll use this to call on local councils to make it easier for people everywhere to live greener lives.
