The power of the still image
Watching an Egypt report on the news the other night I was mesmerised by the use of still photographs in the absence of any footage from the ground. The expression frozen on the face of one protestor was, for me, more powerful than any protest footage I've seen for a long time.
It makes me think how important variety is in an ever increasingly visually saturated world. Often the most simple visual can be the most powerful, as I felt this image showed from a photo shoot I did the other day for our warm homes campaign. Look out for more from this shoot in the latest edition of our magazine Earthmatters.
