Time to tell mum you love her (or at least remember her)

This image (right) didn't make the final 12 Mother's Day e-cards, but it was a personal favourite of mine - perhaps because I have a soft spot for seagulls (but it might also remind me that I was always being told off as a child).

I spent a lot of time in Ireland when I was young, where we had a pet seagull called Ark Ark. It was true cupboard love, but as kids we fell for it.

When I was sailing across the Atlantic years later a sick gull took refuge on our deck for two weeks. We fed and watered it - to the consternation of our skipper. As soon as we were in sight of land it flew off without a word of thanks.

But all mums deserve thanks, so however you want to say it to yours I hope one of our e-cards will help you say it.
