Friends of the Earth

About us

When and where?

We meet on the third Thursday of the month.

About this group

Membership is free at the moment, but this will be up for review at the AGM.

We welcome members from a wide area, and people from Driffield, Hull, Hornsea and Hedon attend as well as local Beverley people.

Headline issues at the moment are (in no particular order) :
GM (a local farmer was negotiating to run a potato trial)
Wind Power (there are several applications for wind farms in the area)
Shop Local (supermarket developments are planned with little thought to the consequences)
Serious thought is being given to the Transition Town concept as a unifying force for sustainable development
