Our Outreach work enables communities to play their role in understanding and tackling climate change, by teaching them and working with them to acheive more sustainable ways of living. The three main ways we do this are:
- The Warehouse Cafe. This is located in the Birmingham Friends of the Earth building, and offers fresh, organic vegetarian and vegan dishes at affordable prices. It utilises organic ingredients, solar power, and recycled materials - it has excellent ethical credentials.
- Mint Restaurant. This is located in Yardley, and serves classic Indian and Bangladeshi Cuisine. It's one of the few places to offer a full gluten-free range, and the business has reduced their waste by over 50% through just recycling metal cans. They use local suppliers for their meat, vegetables and drinks, which supports local businesses, and cuts down on carbon footprint and delivery charges. They even grow their own herbs - perfect example of a business being sustainable, local, and green!
Birmingham Friends of the Earth is a licenced local group of Friends of the Earth England, Wales & Northern Ireland.
