About us

When and where?

Friends of the Earth Dudley & District cover the entire borough, including Gornal, Sedgley, Stourbridge, Kingswinford, Wordsley and Wallheath.

We do not hold regular meetings and usually arrange activities by contacting our 30-strong supporters by e-mail or phone.

If you would like to become a member of Friends of the Earth (it's free!) and receive a monthly newsletter, let us know.

About this group

Friends of the Earth is:

  • The UK's most influential environmental campaigning organisation.
  • Dependent on individuals for over 90% of its income, and free from vested interests.
  • Part of a unique global federation of 77 national campaigning organisations that brings together more than 2 million supporters worldwide.

Friends of the Earth Dudley was first established in 1980s, successfully campaigning against an extension to Merry Hill Shopping Centre and plans to build a motorway around the western edge of the Black Country.

After a lapse of a few years, the group was revived in 2008 and has been involved in several local and national campaigns covering everything from climate change to improving cyclists' access to local canal towpaths.

We are always looking for interested people with all types of skills and abilities to join us. As long as you want to make a difference locally and contribute to a greener, more sustainable future for Dudley, we'd love to hear from you.
