We are a local campaign group taking action on a range of issues - local, national and international. As well as Climate Change and its effect on the environment, we are actively campaigning on issues such as local transport, GM foods, aviation, and waste recycling to name just a few. We meet monthly to discuss current environmental issues and to plan our campaigning strategy. We link closely with Friends of the Earth nationally and support their national campaigns.
We also link closely to other local environmental groups such as Greenpeace, Oxfam, Tearfund, Womens Institute, People and Planet, RSPB, Christian Aid and WWF through joint campaigns such as Stop Climate Chaos and iCount.
The group meets on the fourth Wednesday of the month but the next meeting will be on the 20th October, at the Bear pub in Esher. Do let us know if you are thinking of coming to the meeting so we can confirm venue and details. We try and vary the meeting venues and also meet in Claygate, Walton, Weybridge... And open to other suggestions!
We are always looking for new members and have plenty of things people can do, whatever your skill or interests. If you have any questions or want to get involved, please contact Helen at helen@imaginator.com
