Friends of the Earth > Local Groups > Harrogate District
Meeting at at 7.00pm, at Marie's house, Lynton Gardens , to go through the important sections of North Yorkshire County Council's draft Local Transport Plan and suggest changes required in line with FOE's Get Serious About CO2 campaign.
This repeats what we did a few months ago with regard to Harrogate's draft strategy, and our resulting submission to Harrogate Council has just resulted in Harrogate becoming the first local authority in the country to adopt FOE's target of 40% CO2 cuts by 2020. This is a phenomenal achievement which has given us national recognition at FOE, and should encourage other local authorities to adopt the very ambitious, but scientifically essential, 40% target.
