Havering FoE were delighted to hear that the EU has banned the use of deadly neonicotinoids which are responsible, in part, for the catastrophic decline of our bee population.
Our main local campaign this year is to make gardeners and allotment holders aware of the harmful effects of these chemicals, which are found in pesticides.
Shamefully, Britain did not support the ban although there is now significant evidence of the damage that is caused.
The Government has announced a National Pollinator Strategy due to lobbying of local MPs by members of this and other groups around the country.
Havering Friends of the Earth is a licenced local group of Friends of the Earth England, Wales & Northern Ireland.
These local group pages are maintained by the groups themselves. Please contact the local group in the first instance.
