News from Sierra Leone

Our contact in Sierra Leone Friends of the Earth, Olatunde Johnson, has confirmed that they have received the funds we sent towards the new medical centre, and he will be keeping us in touch with progress. He has sent photos of their group.

Olatunde tells us that before Christmas he visited the Kabala district in the north of Sierra Leone at the invitation of a chief of that district, to explain to local people about the vegetable growing projects being undertaken by FOESL. Unfortunately, due to polluted drinking water and mosquitoes, he was taken seriously ill and was only able to return in the new year. We hope you are now fully recovered, Olatunde.
