For the past four years, Leicester has closed some of its roads to cars on the Sunday of August bank holiday weekend and allowed the cyclists to roam free. It's always an amazing day - being able to cycle over Belgrave flyover never fails to be exhilirating! With no cars, whole families can cycle safely and it's not unusual to see very small children wobbling along.
This year, a few of us put on some stripes and swarmed on the Skyride to raise awareness of the Bee Cause. As you can imagine, we got quite a lot of attention and heard every bee-related pun imaginable. The favourite was from a lady in the marketplace who saw two of us standing together and said, 'Two bee or not two bee?' Quite.
